I would post this in the illegal immigration forum but this news story seems more political.

Quote:
A new Rasmussen Reports national telephone survey finds that 57% of Likely U.S. Voters think the policies and practices of the federal government encourage illegal immigration
Quote:
Forty-seven percent (47%) say relying on the federal government to enforce immigration laws is a better approach than allowing individual states to act on their own to enforce them. Forty-four percent (44%) take the opposite view and say the better approach is to allow states to enforce immigration laws
I disagree most voters agreed with what Arizona has done.

Quote:
68% who say gaining control of the border is more important than legalizing the status of undocumented workers who are already living in the United States
Quote:
Most voters (64%), in fact, still believe the U.S. military should be used along the Mexican border to prevent illegal immigration
Quote:
While most Republicans (60%) favor states acting on their own to enforce immigration, virtually the same number of Democrats (59%) think it's better to rely on the federal government for immigration law enforcement.
Quote:
Republicans and unaffiliateds take a harder line approach to stopping illegal immigration than Democratic voters do

The gov't inaction speaks more than what they say.

I nearly put that one on this forum but realized how many of one kind will disagree with those numbers because they come from Rasmussen and those people seldom, if ever, look at Rasmussen.

This one had some interesting numbers. Thank you for posting it.

Of course they do. Why do politicians so vehemently rant against an ID card being shown to vote ?
Why are there sanctuary cities being condoned ?
Why are kids in school not required to show proof of birth ?
Why are the rules changed in favor of "not knowing" therefore "not doing" ?

Why do "Anchor Baby" moms automatically receive a $1,500/mo. subsidy
and $500/mo food stamp allotment from social security & welfare. No wonder the social security trust fund is out of money.
Why does it cost Los Angeles County $600 million per month to pay for the costs associated with handling illegal immigrants in the county ? And that is only one county in this whole country. What do you think it would add up to when all the counties are tabulated ?
