What are they thinking? Next thing you know, everybody has to wear the same standard outfit, same color, same hairstyle...
Me thinks they went too far

Pfffffffft

Next thing you know they will ban honor killings of wives and daughters. When the public denigration and abuse of women is no longer an acceptable practice, that's they day when I boycott Belgium.

Good point about the "Honor" killings and abuse. Besides that person may be hiding a beard and a bomb under the burqua.

Yeah, suddenly a European nation is praiseworthy to the US right, because they passed a law regarding Muslims.

*laffs*

I praised Italy when they passed laws similar to this.

It's not just the burka-ban. What it comes down is that the governments are telling people how to dress.
One should be able to wear what one pleases, period. Just check out the "people from wal-mart" emails. Some of those are lot more dangerous than a burka

So you move to Belgium and become a citizen and then run for office and get a law passed saying people can wear whatever they want.

1 BIG problem with your idea. If they are allowed to wear whatever they want who is to tell them they are allowed to wear nothing at all. Since you are allowed to wear any clothing you want some idiots will take it to where they don't have to wear clothing.

Hey they want to wear burqa's then go back to a muslim country because Belgium ain't one.

Personally, I think the Burqa is a sign of sexism run amok and barely appropriate for medieval times. But I do not favor banning it. That is a bit too drastic. However, I do support certain restrictions such as having to remove the veil for ID photos and the like.
