What laws would those be, because the National Emergency Act of 1976 clearly allows the President of the United States to unilaterally declare a national emergency and as such the power to Federalize any response to a national disorder of disaster.
And if Bush did that, the libs would whine that he was trying to become a dictator! He couldn't win either way; the libs will whine about something when it comes to Bush.
If you want the government to be responsible for cleaning up disasters caused by negligence of oil companies, we need to also have stiff government regulations on oil companies!
There is a saying in my line of work: "Don't take accountability without first having authority!"
We need more government regulation on all oil companies!!!
