It is interesting to learn how the black Americans really feel about themselves, without the patronage of the "civil rights leaders ", or the "reverands ", or whoever else...

So,the poll is only for the black people on CDF...

How do u prefer to be called..?

Black or "African-American"...

"Black people/folks," in the case of informal usage and African American where formal usage is applicable.

Quite simple.. I am Black.. I am an American. I am not African American. If you call me AA, I will look at you and probably tell you that you are a fool, and prejudiced.

Yeah, I remember you, you were the guy who was ready to throw fists if somebody called you black instead of Negro.

Congrats. I agree 100% percent...

As for formal & informal, for reasons of economy,it is better to homogenise various terms...
After all ,AA is a looong- as -a -train term, uneconomical,
anti-televisional...

African American is the correct usage as per the Associated Press Style Book, which makes it de rigueur for every news organization in the world. But noticing that you are a graduate of the SMS school of writing, I can understand why you have problems with words over, five characters.

For one, I am not a guy... for two.. I have always prefered being called black. I am not from Africa, I have never been to Africa, and I never plan on visiting Africa.

Also, I don't believe in following the ignorance of the Liberals that want to call black people African Americans. By saying African Americans are black only, they are showing their ignorance.

A German American is someone that is from Germany, and moves here. Guess what, they can be black, white, yellow, brown etc...

Just as an African American can be a white person that is from Africa and moves to the USA, they would then be African American

Only because those racist Democrats have pushed and pushed to show seperation of the races.

That is not true.

According to the AP Stylebook: "The preferred term is black. Use African-American only in quotations or the names of organizations or if individuals describe themselves so."

What is that AP style book..?

The "Bible " of journalism...?

By the same propagandists who call the insured- but- not -paying ... "uninsured "..?

Who say that USA doesn't have universal health coverage, while ALL are covered, including the illegals ..?

Who call the illegals... "undocumented "..?

No more speech fascism.

We will call the ...blacks anyway THEY like...

It is a systematic propaganda of the antiamerican antiwhite leftists to "Africanise " the black Americans...
