After the health care reconciliation bill was passed by the Senate, the Democrats decided to call a press conference so that we would all recognize that they actually earned a paycheck for once. Unfortunately, while they were preening before the cameras, Senator Coburn, a Republican, pushed forward a bill on the Senate floor that would provide for an extension of unemployment benefits, and that this extension would be paid for using stimulus funds that had been authorized but were lying dormant in the Treasury.
It turns out that the extension of benefits had not been provided by the Democrats since their energies were directed towards other legislation or interacting with lobbyists or other moneymaking endeavors. However, they were upset that a Republican was pushing a bill aimed at benefiting the Democrats constituency. So, they stopped progress on his bill. Thus, once again, as happened earlier this year, people who depend on this income for financial survival are being denied money because the Democrats can’t bear the thought that they won’t get credit for the extension. Who cares if one out of six Americans is unable to find work?

There are 100 individuals in the Senate who all think that he/she should be President.

As to your unemployment piece, you'll have people on here claim the Republicans are the party of No. Good luck getting someone to admit the truth on this one.

Actually, you are referring to a different extension.

So,

Republicans have been constantly complaining about bail outs, entitlements, welfare, and unemployment benefits,

And now, you're complaining because Democrats stopped the endless unemployment cycle that we've been under for over a year and a half?

LOL, what a trip.

Actually, it was two Republicans who each blocked Democratic extensions, Bunning the first time, but they got past that soon enough. It was Coburn himself who blocked the Democratic extension the second time so he could introduce his own version that was never going to pass, but at least gave him an opportunity to make noise. Enough apparently to impress the OP. The Democratic extension was passed and signed by the President on April 15, retroactive to April 5.
