(It was the same thing for Bush but at least Bush got a break after 9/11)

The pressure in that job must be ENORMOUS!
0bama never gave a reason for conservatives to give him a chance. 0bama was evasive, dishonest and truculent with conservatives, and the American people, from day one.

0bama evaded questions and lied about about his relationships with radical friends, associates and mentors.

He won elections in Illinois by kicking everyone else off the ballot.

He has been on tape referring to the US Constitution as fundamentally flawed.

He has stated his cap & trade program would cause electricity rates to sky rocket, and cause corporations to pass on huge cost increases on consumers.

He has stated his goal for a national universal health care system.

On every issue, 0bama is completely counter to conservatives, so where is the issue where we would give 0bama the benefit of the doubt?

The only time I can think of was the economic crisis, just prior to and immediately after his inauguration. 0bama put together a very impressive group together, and I really thought he may prove me wrong, and do the right thing.

However, as we found out, 0bama handed the entire economic problem over to the legislature, and we got the pork filled stimulus and Omnibus bill, and well over 10,000+ earmarks, after he stated he would "ban all earmarks", and he gave us trillion dollar deficits as far as the eye can see.

Then I thought he might handle the war in Afghanistan well, if given the chance. But we saw him fidget for many months, and then gave the generals 75% of the very minimum that they requested, in material and man power.

I have given 0bama chances, and he has failed each time.

Ignoring the legitimacy of this argument, here is a great example of the hypocriticical damned if you do, damned if you dont scenario "conservatives" handcuff Obama to.

They expect him to cut down the budget, and then out of the other side of their face they want him to dump more money on Iraq and Afghanistan.

Obama simply will never win, because conservatives are looking for every single way to roast him. Period.

How about the right-wing actually debates. Here is an example of not-a-debate...

RIGHT-WINGER: The sky is falling.

NORMAL PERSON: No, it's not really. You're mistaken about that.

RIGHT-WINGER: The sky is falling.

NORMAL PERSON: No, it isn't. This has actually been looked into thoroughly, and the sky is not falling.

RIGHT-WINGER: The sky is falling.

NORMAL PERSON: Look, this is an acorn. It falls from an oak tree. It was never a part of the sky at all.

RIGHT-WINGER: The sky is falling.

NORMAL PERSON: Fine. Here's a link to the list of everything that has ever been observed to fall. See? There is acorns, space debris, apples, pieces of meteoites, those little maple tree helicopter thingies, objects recently shot from a giant catapult. Nowhere in this entire list is there any entry at all for "piece of sky".

RIGHT-WINGER: The sky is falling.

NORMAL PERSON: What's wrong with you? The sky isn't even made of anything that COULD fall down to begin with!

RIGHT-WINGER: The sky is falling. Stupid liberal.

No. They have different priorities than the left does. It's a fair assessment to say they'd rather see the money spent on defense (in the instance you cite) than on domestic issues that may not be as high on their priority list as it is for the democrats.

Some folks are less prone to just take some guy's word for it. Some prefer actual facts to back up claims instead of promises of magic puppies and unicorns.
