This applies to all races, whether it's the black dude who has been unemployed and blames the man, or the white dude who is unemployed or didn't get the promotion because of affirmative action. Give me a break. What a cop out. Both dudes need to look in the mirror and stop blaming society for their failures.

No argument, just a pet peeve. I'm not denying that there isn't racism, but there comes a point in which you have to play the cards you have been dealt to the best of your ability. Simply using it as an excuse is a cop out.
I see black people who are teachers, cops, firemen, administrators, business owners, doctors, nurses, scientists, blue collar workers who have decent paying jobs, etc, the list could go on and on.
I see white people the same way.
I also see black and white homeless people or ones that are struggling to survive. Some through no fault of their own with all the jobs that's been lost in the last few years.
And I see some of both races down in the gutter because they have never tried to put themselves in a better position or are too lazy to try to help themselves.
Anyone can make excuses and blame others or color for their position in life.
But I think it mostly boils down to self motivation, getting an education, and not giving up, and persuing your goals.
Excuses are the easy way out and usualy an admission of not having enough drive to do what is neccesary to attain a goal. A person has to go after and put some effort into achieving what they want. It won't just fall out of the sky and be given to them. Don't matter what color they are.

You mean they should just go to the back of the bus and be quiet?
Yes, it's wrong to blame ALL your failures on race but RACISM exists in the "great" "free" United States and to deny it is ignorant....and many failures can be placed on it's doorstep.

You explain to me the University of Chicago study that PROVED that "African American" and "Latino" names on a resume significantly lowered your chances of a call back? If your name is Tyrone, you are far less likely to be offered the same job Mark would be offered.
The fact is that racism in employment is STILL rampant, and denying it is just plain ignorance.
