I think they should be taxed at a higher rate, if their children are on a national health insurance plan. But no, not charged with child abuse.
Lots of things cause obesity, not just over feeding your kids, and letting them eat whatever they want all the time. I'm against any government regulation on this. IF we don't have a national healthcare system, then I'm not worried about their taxes. However, if we have one, then I think anyone who is obese should have a higher tax rate, and if its your kids, then you have to pay taxes also.
But on the other hand, I'm obese by some definition. I'm 6'4, and weigh about 210lbs. I'm not fat, in fact, I'm skinny as a rail. But I'm overweight as compared to some obesity charts.
It isn't abuse. It's neglect. They neglect to get their kids off the couch, and they neglect to monitor the caloric intake. If they can't see how gross it is to be fat, they should stop neglecting their eyesight, and get new glasses.

I'm the one who voted yes . No worse than molestaion ,imo. The poor kid is stuck with the fats cells for life which makes it harder to ever lose the fat .

One of my sisters is obese. My other sister is skinny, and so am I. We ate the same foods, we are all about the same height, she is just genetically predisposed to be fat.
That doesn't mean my mom molested my sister. Some people are just fat.

Yes I smoke but when one of my grandkids died from chronic lung at 6 mo.s from so many smokers we quit smoking around kids in closed up places inside car or home . We didn't know then what could happen . A terrible way to find ut .

When these cigaretts kill me it won't be because I had bad genes . It will be I have a bad habit and will pay the price if I don't get hit by a truck or somethign first .
Only extra food will make you fat, not genes .
