I haven't watched Maher much, because I didn't have HBO before, but now I have HBO because of The Pacific series, so I watched Maher last friday and I thought it was funny how he made that MSNBC anchor Chris Matthews eat his words. First Matthews was staring at Maher with his mouth open, and then he had to eat his words. It was something about Kennedy.
That is interesting but what do you think about the question in the OP?
I am interested in what you think Of Maher's slamming of the POTUS over the oil spill? He also says he feels like the Tea Partiers in that he feels unrepresented by the current Administration.
"It turns out, that oil rigs today generally don't cause oil spills. They are technologically very advanced" - President Obama
Fair is Fair. Dumb comment is a Dumb comment
Totally agree - Obama appeasing the other side to a fault.
Like Maher says in the joke - what's the difference between George Bush Jr. and Obama? A tan
Maher can be amusing and thought provoking (however, he doesn't belong on the Sunday morning news panels). I don't like his stereotyping of all Southern and Texan people. Agree somewhat on the religious points he makes but he goes way too far (I personally have my own religious faith).

Apparently Maher was always against offshore drilling, and he was disappointed when Obama said he was going to drill, and now after the spill he knows he was right, he speaks his mind. It turns out he is not such a partisan hack after all. A partisan person would have defended Obama's desicion, but Maher did not. Maybe I should watch him more in the future. How about you? This is quite refreshing, because I know the other guy Matthews is a partisan hack, just like Beck and Limbaugh who will go to no end to defend their idols and attack the other people based on their party affiliation.
Actually I'll take it back : I will never be Maher fan, but it has nothing to do with this. It is because he is an atheist who just can't leave it at that, but he actually feels compelled to attack and ridicule Christ and Christianity.
PS, did you apploud when Obama said he would drill offshore and build nuclear power plants? If you did, I didn't hear it.
I think it's great becasue I agree with the position - I also am against offshore drilling, and was disappointed when the president announced he would pursue it.

But if a conservative disagrees with a liberal they are racist, especially when it comes to the POTUS. Knowing what I just wrote is true, your post is utter nonsense.
Who's making excuses? I'm making excuses for Bill Maher? Sounds like you are somehow dinging Maher for disagreeing with the president that you also disagree with??? [head explodes]
Tell you what, when Tim Kaine publicly apologies to Bill Maher (or any other ENTERTAINER, for that manner), you can talk to me about group think.
you wouldn't understand. In your beck/rush/hannity/coulter world - it's all groupthink. Dissent is not an option. hence - why all of the moderates are being purged from the right (and why the term RINO even exists).
So, i know you are probably incapable of understanding that it's ok to generally like someone without subscribing 100% to their ideology - and being able to express yourself when you disagree. But that's how liberals work. Take it for what it is...
Thats pretty funny I cant speak about Rush or Hannity or Coulter but Beck who is he suppose to group think for. Hope you dont say republicans

I am no big fan of any of them, I am a big fan of being able to come to my own conclusions.

I am for getting off of oil...if we can put people on the moon we can make cars that run on alternative fuels and get 75 to 100 MPG but we don't have those kind of cars because of big oil.
I only started this thread to see what the Maher worshipers would say when he broke ranks and spoke out against Obama, but I guess those people are not interested in replying to this thread.
Wow amazing how there is so many republicans that have agreed with democrats and are still republicans
Colin Powell questions "Don't Ask, Don't Tell": CLOSET LIB!!!
