I am not a Christian but I live with one. From what I have learned from her I would think that if I encountered Christ and told him I did not believe in God he would forgive me, not curse me. From what I have seen of these fundamentalists I believe they would curse me to everlasting hell.

Pushed it? He's a prominent anti-gay crusader who helped found the extremist anti-gay group The Family Research Council (a la James Dobson) and is a board memebr of NARTH -a religious based anti-gay group who were the originators of the the whole "pray away the gay" nonsense and who are responsible for much of the "mis-information" about homosexuality tossed about on other anti-gay websites.

George Rekers Background Info

Alvin McEwen: Anti-gay organization founder travels with a 'rentboy'

Interestingly, the Family Research Council apparently removed any reference to old George from their website very quickly after the story came out.

The Family Research Council is listed as an anti-gay hate group by the Southern Poverty Law Centre.

There is an unusual rate of closet homos within the vocal anti-gay christians.

I'm starting to wonder, from a purely psychological point of view, if forbidding something, resisting and fighting it doesn't make you envy it eventually. It's kinda like a restrictive diet. If you put too much effort on not eating something, it's proven that you will eventually give up and eat it a lot more than you would normally.

These people spend so much time thinking about sexual orientation, that it just might make them wanna try it. Maybe they should stop thinking about what people do in their bedrooms and focus on something that won't lead them to envy ****.

I know a whole lot of gay people, some who I am friends with, and when I talk to them, I don't think about their sexual orientation at all. I don't picture them in beds with other dudes. I'm sure if I kept thinking about their sex lives constantly I would start having fantasies. I'm convinced that as men, with our libido, we can get turned on by almost anything if we think about it long enough.

Anyway, I think it would just be better both for gays and for these anti-gay people if we would just stop caring about sexual orientation.

This is exactly the reason I place no faith in the faith of others. I have no time for the hypocrisy of "religious" groups. I've seen and heard (and been part of) several different religious groups, and it's basically all the same lies covered by a smoke screen. Sorry to say, but it's usually the weak-minded that become so deeply involved with these organizations. Those that prey on the weak-minded are obviously the "leaders". Here... put money in this plate, that you worked for, so I can save a seat in heaven for you. While I sit in the seat of my new Cadillac. The seventh-day-adventists (many many years ago) came to my Mothers house, several times, just to tell her if she didn't come back to church that she would "burn". She eventually called the police and they never came back. And how many more years will society allow boys within catholicism to be sodomized. These poor boys are victims of someone's sick idea of suppression. We cannot deny the feelings and drives that nature gives us simply because some fairy tale of a book says we have to. So this man enjoys the company of other men. Homosexuality is NOT a disease people. Pedophilia IS. At least it was a mature adult and not a child he was involved with. Doesn't change the fact he's a hypocrite. IMO he should denounce his christianity and do in his life what nature intended.

Be his self.

Unfortunately he is probably too afraid he'll go to hell. We're ALL god's children unless we do this, this and this. And don't do that, that and that. While you're at it, just stay in your home and don't experience anything that life has to offer. Hypocrisy at it's evil finest.

Then of course there's the word "right" in the headline. Political affiliations as well as other labels have no bearing on the nature of what drives someone. This could have been anyone one of us. Just because you're sane today doesn't mean you can't get smacked in the head in the next few minutes or days and become a complete lunatic. Life is so much more than just someones idea of it.

I'll take FREE-WILL in it's entirety, thank you.

As for a book of Fairy Tales, I will leave that to you and God --- on judgment day.
I had to check your profile name. At first glance, I thought it was Vendetta, which I think fits based on this post.

As another poster wrote, whenever I see an anti-gay person, I immediately think they are gay. Always seems to come true.

Instead of believing that they're hypocrites, look at their vehement denial as a symptom of the sickness that is homosexuality. They know it's sick, they feel shame about it, they want everyone to believe they're not gay because the people they want to impress the most are straight.

Sounds like what gays do today with the gay marriage thing.

What gays want the most is acceptance from straight people, and they want straight people not to think they're damaged goods, and see them as being as normal as straight people are.

Wow. Where are you from? 1862?

Can you explain the ridiculous, hysterical connection you are making to gay marriage?

I am gay, and I like to be accepted as much as the next guy. Truly I couldn't give a rat's rear if your bigoted, uninformed, self-righteous, judgmental, self accepts me. You can hate me and my sexuality from now till 2050.

What I demand is not your acceptance, but that the government provide me with the same rights and protections that you have....

However, I do feel these are tragic self-hating figures that have such a high level of hypocrisy that their lives must be torture. Of course, I have the ability to be empathetic. Do you?

Pity, sure. Empathy, probably not.

Instead of fighting individual rules and regulations because of the way you choose to associate yourselves sexually you go for the broad brush with "marriage".

That semblance of normal that comes from being allowed to marry, the social acceptance that comes with it.

It's what gays desire. All the brainwashing on television and in the school system that the children of this nation have had for so many years points to the youth to give gays what they want - acceptance.

The oldsters, the ones in the church - all know it's not acceptable, they're pandering to those of their generation. The ones who are in the closet who speak to those of their generation haven't had the brainwashing that the kids of today have so they are in the closet, and sneak around.

That's the real sickness I'm talking about.

Considering how biased, stilted and wrong your thinking is, I didn't vote for you as spokesperson for the gays. Please step down from the lectern.
