Seems like 99% of the arguments against AA revolve around race, even though AA takes gender into consideration. White women benefit from AA as much as a Black male, yet critics never mention this. Sure, they will respond in this post stating that they are against gender considerations or bias, but you will be hard pressed to find a past post bring up gender preferences or considerations. Seems like the only time they bring it up is when they are on the defensive, like now.

I seldom refer to Affirmative Action without mentioning the fact that black men are third or farther down in the scale. Of course, women of any race are at the top with blacks highest and finally we get down to black men and others of non-white origin. I think that you are trying to read things into what others say in order to cause more trouble from AA than is needed. If, as you suggested yesterday, we stopped AA for five years we would see some really great things coming from small business.

I guess I am the 1% you refer to, huh.

Because racism is obvious to intelligent people but sexism is so deeply ingrained that even intelligent people sometimes don't recognize it.

You are aware that the above makes absolutely no sense!

Black men are... down in the scale. What scale?

Women are at the top. Of what?

They don't always. I have heard gender mentioned quiet frequently.

As far as race, I think it gets mentioned more because its the race baiters who always say that race shouldn't matter that do a 180 and for AA race totally matters. Its a type of hypocrisy that is so blatantly obvious that most people look right past it.

Not just females. One of my professors a few years back was legally blind, and he said that in the past he had benefitted from affirmative action. The racial aspect is brought up in AA debate not as an actual issue, but as a means to whip up one side or the other.

You know that I meant to say that black men are behind both black women and white women on the job scale as posed for AA. They aren't much ahead of white males and should be really screaming about the system's attempt to make women more equal.

If a company hires an Asian Lesbian confined to a wheelchair that's called "hitting the AA Trifecta" in HR departments.
