Some Congressmen are playing political crap again.

Why would stripping citizenship of someone who joins a terrorist group matter?

Seriously, when we catch them, they are either in the planning stage, or have already committed the terrorist act, right. So they are going to jail for a very long time at that point, regardless of their citizenship status.

I'm really quite tired of politicians using this stuff as a political football. The Supreme court has already said that the wording of the 14th amendment prohibits congress from revoking someones citizenship status.

If you break the law, you go to jail, its just that simple. Citizen or not, you go to jail, forever.

It's simple. The thugs in Washington have to say something in order to "justify" their existence. Most of what comes out of their mouths is BS anyway, but hey, at least they are talking, right?

There is already a law in place that allows for that. Agree that this is just more political posturing...wonder where all that 'strict constitutional constructionist' jargon is now? Sounds like activist pandering & over-reaction to me.

How am I being bigoted?

I want them arrested and jailed. Thats going to happen regardless of their citizenship status.

Their citizenship status is a moot point, once they are arrested. The Supreme court has already said that if they are caught on American soil, they stand trial in our justice system.

All persons born or naturalized in the United States, and subject to the jurisdiction thereof, are citizens of the United States and of the State wherein they reside. No State shall make or enforce any law which shall abridge the privileges or immunities of citizens of the United States; nor shall any State deprive any person of life, liberty, or property, without due process of law; nor deny to any person within its jurisdiction the equal protection of the laws.

Section one of the 14th amendment.

The law that was mentioned before, was during the Japanese internment. And it says that if anyone joins a foreign military against our country, their citizenship can be revoked.

However, a terrorist group isn't an army.
