But it proves the point that the general policy will always stay the same regardless of who is in WH.
The problem with no-bid contracts to Halliburton, year after year, from one administration to the next, is that they do not have any competition, which leads to a loss in motivation, and complacency sets in. 0bama needs to look for other contractors to do at least some of the work that Halliburton is doing. We let them prove their ability to perform, and widen their contract as they prove themselves. Its never a good practice to allow someone to have an unchallenged monopoly.

Show me where I said I would rather send them to Saudi Arabia, or to any other place than a US company. I simply said I prefer free market competition, and you admitted you prefer the govt pick the companies without any competition.

Besides, Halliburton headquarters are moving to Dubai, not Saudi Arabia.

Yes, exactly. Competition brings down the prices, and non-bid contracts drive them up. These people abuse government contracts, and this has been proven over and over in Iraq with Halliburton charging $250 000 for a freaking toyota pick-up truck, and $15 for a gallon of gas.

Did I say so? No, so why do you keep pretending I have said such thing. Just show me where I said it or be quiet.

Two companies in the world could fulfill the contract. the contract is going to be payed with American tax dollars. Would you rather see the American company or the Saudi company get your tax dollars

Who says only two companies can fulfill it? Glenn Beck? Neil Cavuto? These are tasks which used to be done by the military themselves.

My dad was soil field service for 35 years. the amount of work needed on the Iraq wells go well beyond small companies to be able to handle. There are only two companies in the oil field service big oil to fulfill the contract.

Read the article again, and see what kind of work the contract is about.
