In Farmington,New Mexico, this town has always had racial tensions though, between the whites, hispanics and the native americans.
not too long ago a group of Spanish and White men kidnapped an illegal and took him out to the hills, robbed him, beat him and called him derogatory names.
in the 90's there was a guy that went around looking for Navajos, he would offer them a ride then brutally kill them, he murdered 5 people before he was caught.
and the thing is........people love to think that NM is so progressive, at least the outsiders do, they visit 2 popular vacation cities in NM and think they know all about the state.

Are we supposed to measure you, and your state, based on the aberrant behavior of these people?

good post, good points, too many think Taos and Sante Fe are what NM is all about.

i was born and raised in this town, and never heard of such a thing.
needless to say, i sincerely hope the three scumbags involved spend the rest of the best years of their miserable lives in jail.
