The Fix - Assessing the Bob Bennett fallout

I have heard the right saying that this upcoming is an election on the Obama administration.

Senator Bennett is one of the most conservative Republicans in the Senate. It appears to me that incumbents are in trouble, and it doesn't matter if your Democrat or Republican.

Not to mention Crist in Florida.

More power to them. Split your vote. And make those GOPers even more radical than are already.

Where did you get the impression that Sen. Bennett was "one of the most conservative Republicans in the Senate?" Because if you check out his voting record I think you will find that it is not very conservative at all.

Bennett voted to give illegal immigrants amnesty. He voted against REAL ID. He voted for Bush's TARP Bailout, but against Obama's Stimulus. He has voted for every Democrat sponsored spending bill, EXCEPT for the Stimulus. At the very best Bennett is a political opportunist. His vote is more predicated upon who controls the White House, than whether or not it is the right thing for the nation, and he certainly does not care about his oath of office.

The up coming election is going to be a referendum on government spending in general, and Obama's radical socialist agenda specifically. There are still those Republicans who spent like Democrats from 2001 through 2006 that need to be ousted from power, and that is why Bennett has to go. He is part of the problem, not the solution, and he will not be alone.

WASHINGTON — Legislative report cards by special-interest groups say Sen. Bob Bennett, R-Utah, is just as conservative as Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev. is liberal.

He is not 100% conservative. He was like 85% conservative. He still favoured some liberal things like amnesty for the Mexicans and such but the fact is that he promised to only run for 2 terms when he was elected and he was running for his 4th. The voters have every right to make him keep his promises.

Um,

Those are Republican ideas. Remember our last President?

I agree, they should hold him accountable. I just hope they hold all of the Senators accountable. I'd love to see not one incumbent get re-elected.
