Oh b*** s***! Do you think this is the first census that ever sent workers to people's home? My mother was a census worker 40 years ago! And the workers only go to the homes of people who neglected for one reason or another to mail back the forms they got in the mail.

And, of course, you don't need to count those who've never filed a tax return or collected any form of welfare? What this man did (if the story is even true) is horrible, but it should not be used to degrade all of the honest census workers who are simply doing their jobs.
The 'Obama' tag was a cheap shot. The census has been door to door for over 200 years and is mandated by the constitution. The media keeps referring to him a 'volunteer' census worker - I thought they were paid.
At least he doesn't look like an illegal or an Acorn member... otherwise the headline would be variation of "American Citizen rapes handicapped woman.

Census workers have been going to homes since the every first census ever---10 years after the constitution was written. It's the law.
And they don't know how many people are in the country just from income tax filings. Census workers even count the homeless living under bridges and in shelters and those people don't file taxes.
The poster above me brings up an interesting point about the "volunteer census worker." I thought they were all paid as well.
