Republicans have reassembled their coalition by reconnecting with independents, seniors, blue-collar voters, suburban women and small town and rural voters—all of whom had moved away from the party in the 2006 elections, in which Republicans lost control of the House. Those voter groups now favor GOP control of Congress.
The ever important Indies. I'd say voters gave obama a shot and have figured out that his policies ARE NOT what they voted for.

The findings suggest that public opinion has hardened in advance of the 2010 elections, making it harder for Democrats to translate their legislative successes or a tentatively improving U.S. economy into gains among voters.
You mean the "translating" obama did right after passage of HC? That resulted in even MORE disapproval for the bill and the tactics used by the democrats?
Those MOST interested in the November election, favor the GOP by a 20 point margin - that old "enthusiasm" gap.
The democrats thought (or maybe lied to their members and really didn't give a damn) obamacare would boost their chances in the fall. So far, it's done exactly the opposite.
Behold this gem:
And this with a 7 point advantage for the democrats in the poll.
Remember all the polls you posted before the election? How did those work out for you?
Were there polls posted which showed McCain as winning? If there were, I dont recall any. In fact, I'm rather shocked Obama only won by such a slim margin, considering he was running against "Bush 3"..

They must have figured out that those iPad, iPods and Xbox's just didn't have the information they were looking for or they were programmed with lies. Either one... the devices or the people.

You may want to look up the definition of "slim". While you're at it, do a quick search on "Socialism" too.
Obama, 53%
McCain 46%..
If 4% more had voted for McCain, he would have won.. thats indeed slim, especially considering the hatred some of you have for Republicans.

Obama won 52.9% to 45.6% for McCain, I know everyone on the left wants to make that seem like a "landslide" victory but it wasn't. A 7.3% spread is a majority but it's not a landslide compared to other things like the percentage of Americans who support AZ's immigration laws.
