Did you read the article? The "officer" admitted that he not only lied about the incident, but he actually shot himself.

I was wondering the same thing, the article doesn't say. We probably will never know. Just imagine if anyone was detained because of this. PA is already a hot button when it comes to cops and blacks in that State, I haven't read anything about any incidents due to this lie, but it could have went a completely different way.

To me this sounds like attempted fraud and IIRC that is a felony. He could be in really deep.

Really, I am certain he could have paid someone to shoot him with an illegal gun and then run away. I mean have the cops forgotten how to commit fraud? Must be lack of adaquate training.

The cop union will close ranks around him, they'll dummy up a stress related disability issue and he'll be released w/benefits.
It will take little while and in the meantime he'll collect full pay.

I was thinking this too...how unintelligent do you have to be to shoot yourself with your own police issued gun? Kids who watch cop shows on tv are smarter than that.

It all just add to my theory that controversial issues are not so much about the issues, but about how utterly brain dead some people who hold jobs and leadership positions actually are. It's embarassing for everyone.

A new low for crooked law enforcement. I shudder to think that the kind of officer that would pull a stunt like this would have been just as likely to have invented a "valid" reason to take out those two black men, if they even existed in the first place. Unfortunately, there are many more of him out there, often lauded as heroes by the public.

Again, this is a 21 year veteran. Just imagine what worm hole this is going to open up on his past cases. Just imagine?
