Gingrich is correct once again.

Democrats are trying to impose a "secular-socialist machine" rejected by most Americans, an unapologetic Newt Gingrich said Sunday.

The former House speaker described Democrats as "secular" because those in power in government are beset by a "relentless anti-religious bias"; "socialist" because the Obama administration wants to determine salaries, own corporations and provide health care; and a "machine" because the agenda is being pushed robotically without concern for people standing in the way.

"When you have a pay czar in the White House who thinks that they have enough power and knowledge to set the salaries for hundreds of people in dozens of companies, in an industry
they've never been in -- I mean, if that's not socialist -- if the government is the largest owner of General Motors and Chrysler, the largest funder of AIG -- they just nationalized student loans so they're now all 100 percent government program," Gingrich told "Fox News Sunday."

"If you can get $757 billion out of the Congress and no elected official has even read the bill, that's the behavior of a Chicago-style machine," Gingrich added.

Secular--yeah, get religion out of government on all levels and keep it well separated
Socialist--yeah, socialist for things that should be socialized, capitalist for things that should be capitalized
Machine--um, it's always been a machine and Gingrich was at one point one of its central cogs

NEXT!

"Secular-Socialist"...

Those who worship the State are hardly "secular".

Somebody ought to tell Gingrich that fearmongering died with KKKarl Rove's departure from the WH.

America will not live afraid again.

Gingrich has never been correct a day in his political life.

[i]Democrats are trying to impose a "secular-socialist machine" rejected by most Americans, an unapologetic Newt Gingrich said Sunday.

What could be more capitalist than when a white knight becomes a majority share holder at the company's beseechment then decides to protect their investment by reviewing corporate compensation?

By the way, could someone explain to Gingrich and his fellow travelers just what the duties and responsibilities of a special master? And while you are at it, please explain that "socialist" have a historical enmity regarding czars.

You just proved Gingrich correct, taking into account the fact that the white knight majority shareholder is the government. Thanks

PS - Regarding the student loan program...

After the passage of the National Education Act of 1958, the Federal government provided money to the colleges to distribute to deserving students at highly subsidized interest rates. By 1965 with the passage of Higher Education Act, direct Federal grants were made available to aspiring college students which through a mix of grants, loans and work study programs help realize a boom in Americans with a college education. These programs were dismantled during the "Reagan/Gingrich"
revolution and the Federal student loan program was "privatized" which saw millions of students burdened with crushing debt upon graduation. So, what is the logic behind graduating millions of American workers, by private corporations using Federal guarantees?

If private banks would like to issue loans to prospective students, hell no one is stopping them! Of course the private sector was never going to step up to that plate without Federal loan guarantees. So who is exactly the socialist, the Obama administration (by the way, this bill was passed during the Clinton administration but veto by Bush 41) or the banks?
