Me thinks thats a Religious University graduation.

If thats what they want to believe, so be it.

It is a shame that she is against the intellectual mid though, kind of seems hypocritical at a graduation ceremony. I mean, I have a friend who attended a Christian college, and she is one of the smartest people I know. I'd call her an intellectual.

But, I guess thats a bad thing.

There's nothing quite as loving and tolerant as a liberal on a mission!

Oh brother. Your right OP. And then they wonder why our students are falling behind all together. Keep on putting folklore and fairytales into the heads of our children and passing them as facts. Then wonder why god didn't save us when we're done and dead last.

Did a little cyber sleuthing and found this:
Quote:
At Midwestern State University, an evangelical Christian student named Mary King gave a graduation benediction prayer. By the end of which she was literally frothing at the mouth. During her spring commencement benediction, she asked God to forgive her fellow students for their sins. In particular she begged forgiveness for the sin of using their time to get a university education instead of devoting their lives to prayer. After demanding that her audience repent for their caps and gowns, King collapsed, crying and gasping for air. University President Louis Rodriguez, not recognizing these symptoms of Holy Spirit infestation, called an ambulance. As a result of the incident, the MSU Faculty Senate voted 8-7 to remove prayer from future commencements. But President Rodriguez vetoed the decision.

P.S. This is not a Christian university, nor even a private one - it is a public university in Texas.
FWIW

What? No snake handling or passing of the collection plate? No laying on of hands to heal her?

A graduation speech - do you really think anyone listened or paid attention? There are probably more people on C-D that have any idea what she said versus anyone in the audience.

Nope, she had every right to speak about what she wanted.

Did you notice that her liberal professors, and that liberal college crowd didn't boo her, or stop her?

However, we can point out the natural hypocrisy of anyone graduating college, and then hating on the "intellectual mind"
