Check out the OP's link. That source claims she is a Muslim.
Arab-American from Michigan crowned 2010 Miss USA - KansasCity.com (http://www.kansascity.com/2010/05/16/1949333/miss-usa-hopefuls-take-stage-in.html#ixzz0o9LTmBM - broken link)
An American-Arab Anti-Discrimination official in Michigan hailed as "historic" the first Arab-American and Muslim to be crowned Miss USA, the Detroit Free Press reports.
She's a hot and sexy Shiite Muslim no less. It's great.
What is almost laughable is that the liberals are proclaiming that this beauty contest means America is changing which is a laugh. America is no different. In order to win the beauty contests, a woman must reveal almost everything, strut her stuff in front of a large audience - nothing different in this one. This Muslim woman even answered the birth control question in the most politically correct way -- she's so much for birth control, she wants the government to pay for it.
What this shows is how much the Muslim world is changing, how in the end they'll become like us.
She is muslim immigrant, that much is a fact. You don't have to be catholic to go to catholic school as a kid. Obama went to muslim school as a kid although he is not a muslim? But I guess all schools in Indonesia are muslim schools. Anyway, she is a muslim immigrant, and I don't know why that is a big deal.
A muslim immigrant?
You don't immigrate from a religion. (well maybe you do)
Obviously the Women is Americanized, just look at her, she is not your typical muslim Woman. So what's the problem, some make more of a problem then there actually is. I think she needs to be more careful of those in her own fate, some will hate her for this. The other thing, Politicis should be kept out of sports also.
She certainly is beautiful. I am not a big supporter of beauty pageants, but if this results in empowering Muslim women in any way, that can only be a good thing.
That contest has been politically correct for many years now. For once I think it's a great message we're sending to Muslim women all over the world. And to Muslim men. And to the mullahs.
Come out of the burkas, come out of the dark ages. Next thing we need is a Muslim Madonna clone - Shakira comes close but she's not from the USA so doesn't count.
a "Muslim Madonna clone"? sorry, but we have enough slutty female singers out there, we don't really need any more.
