Notice how almost all the responses by conservatives are "What about the Democrats?" None of them have addressed the observations made by the OP. Not to mention that this thread was not about political parties but idealogical movements, ie. conservative v. liberal, not Republican v. Democrat.

May I suggest you read the book, "Intellectuals and Society" by Thomas Sowell?

Actually, he is a black intellectual. Maybe now he's trying to be "one of the guys".

Thomas Sowell - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
" In 2002 he was awarded the National Humanities Medal for prolific scholarship melding history, economics, and political science. In 2003, he was awarded the Bradley Prize for intellectual achievement.[1]"

Right - Beck- recovering alcoholic. I say recovered alcoholic
Actually, I got chided on this forum by a RW for using the term "recovered alcholic" for someone once, and they were correct. The truth is, no alcoholic is ever really recovered.

1) Your wrong, not all responses included "what about Democrats"
2) Indeed they have addressed the observations by the OP, who is "wrong"...
3) There is no evidence that "The Plumber" is conservative, Beck is libertarian, and Palin, who the hell knows where she stands..

The argument by the OP is flawed without knowing where "the Plumber" stands idealogically..

I don't see the problem, there needs to be a party of the people who aren't smart enough to know they are deficient.

Where you can have people on Medicare and Social Security, who can have like minded people to vote to repeal it.

Where people who are on Medicaid and Public Assistance can vote against it, while screaming about evils socialism.

Where people can rant about the evils of education, while complaining about their low paying/heavy labor jobs and getting taken advantage of because they were never taught "that financial jazz" in skool (certainly none of the intellectual sciency crap that wasn't in the 2,000 year old bible).

Not everyone gets to be an astronaut. If people are that dumb to want to make sure they get even less educated and more in poverty...we need a group of people to work at the fast food joints when illegals have kids that work hard to get well educated.

Go America, where our ancestors had sought excellence and worked hard so many could choose to be worse off.

Sowell despises Obama with every fiber in his body, that's all that counts to conservatives. You can also add Cal Thomas to the list.
The conservatives rally against the educated and denounce those who think before they talk. The conservatives reduce everything to simplicitiy: either conservative or anti-American commie; capitalist greed or commie.

Fact is that radicals have taken power away from the true conservatives in the Republican party and they don't want bright people who can think for themselves. They want a figureheads that can be easily swayed...

The next time you need surgery, don't go to someone who has attended college! They may be educated, articulate, and even might have new ideas!

I used to lean Conservative until Limbaugh appeared on the scene. I didn't want to be any part of his childish rants! Later GWB sealed the deal for me.

Limbaugh and GWB are not conservatives imo. Some issues they are. I don't get why people think they are. I guess they say they are it means more than how they vote on the issues.
Rush is annoying imo. I wouldn't change affiliations because a person who I think represents my side goes on childish rants.
Shouldn't we focus on the issues instead of style. Yes we can!!
