I realize that. H.R 5325 however required a 2/3 vote to pass.

Because of Democrat maneuvers.

But Democrats made a losing gamble by bringing the bill up under a procedure that prevented Republicans from offering more amendments but requiring a two-thirds majority for passage. The vote was 261-148 for passage, short of the two-thirds needed. Every Democrat supported it, but only 15 of 163 voting Republicans backed it.

So many dems went along with the amendant and you say the repubs killed the bill.

Looks like to me the dems screwed up and CBS, as usual, is trying to blame the repubs. and you followed along.

Yes, and the reason the Dems used those maneuvers was due to how the GOP was able to kill H.R 5116.

It has been pointed out before, but the "pornography" Amendment was a Dem Amendment to H.R. 5325. But yes, the Dems killed it themselves in the end.

The GOP killed the original bill by adding funding cuts to an Amendment that they knew the Democrats would support.

Well complaining about how Congress works is another thread entirely. They make their own rules after all for how they operate.

The pornography Amendment was originally a GOP Amendment in H.R 5116 which included the funding cuts.

How about the Dems killed the bill by writing it in the first place? Read it people. It is just another ridiculous power grab and waste of money.
