With that BP has lost its right to be a viable company in my mind. It has lost its right to do business in America! The economic and environmental devastation can not possibly be mended in the region in our lifetime. Half of the Gulf will be closed to fishing for years to come.

I don't know about the rest of you, but this really disturbs me. I have a feeling that they are not even going to pay for all of the clean up costs. Moreover, BP cannot possibly pay for the billions and billions of dollars lost in fishing, tourism and the environmental benefits of the coastal wetlands lost. Boycott BP. Let them go to hell.
I can't hurt BP by boycotting them. I don't have any stations anywhere near and never buy anything from them when I see one of their stations. Do I have to boycott them since they don't get any money from me?

If there wasn't so much demand for oil, we wouldn't need all this offshore drilling.

I'd love to have a plug-in hybrid so we'd be less dependent on oil.
Ride a bike then.

All the liberals can ride bikes to work. I will drive my 600 HP '69 Mopar to work (at least in the summer). I will drive my 575 HP Caddy CTS V the rest of the time. I will rev my engine at stop lights. You can burn dung and wood for fuel. I will keep my central gas heat and air conditioning. When I go on vacation, I would prefer to fly. You can stay at home in your wood and dung heated tent.

Liberalism sucks. Rationality is better.

It's tough for me to drive less than I already do. I have a 2007 Hyundai Santa Fe with 17k miles on it.

This is the mentality of the modern day, Rush Limbaugh listening, FOX "News" watching Tea Partier who is told that not only should this nation kill other people and steal their resources, but you should consume as much resources as you possibly can.

A 6 billion dollar profit in the first quarter can always go higher.

And the sheep will react accordingly. I see you are doing your part.

And the Dumbing Down rolls on, averaging about 7 mpg...

If you have to ask why, you wouldnt understand.

The tragedy is how easy it is to persuade the clueless.

better to boycott the federal goverment and its repressive taxes that both the democrats and republicans have helped keep in place.

while you are at it, why not boycott all states that want to boycott Arizona, since those states do not want to follow the law.

Meanwhile, the White House is suggesting that BP may be guilty of misconduct that would leave BP responsible for all damages caused by the oil leak. White House Press Secretary Robert Gibbs said “Understand this — there is — they are fully liable for cleanup and recovery costs per the Oil Pollution Act of 1990. The cap is not in place if somebody is found to be either grossly negligent, conduct willful — involved in willful misconduct, or in violation of federal regulations. As you know, there’s an investigation ongoing as to the cause behind the spill.”

You're whining about taxes you haven't even paid for your war of choice yet. What is it with you people you spend billions of dollars so you can sit on a couch and drink beer dreaming about the glory you didn't have. Now you complain about the taxes that would pay for it.
