Actually pretty cool. I've just voted to eliminate pay raises......

Does this actually get to the representatives? If not it is a waste of time.
I went back and listened to the vid again. It says that we can vote on one out of five programs and that each week there will be five new ones swapped out. And on the site, not the vid, there is a list of five programs. I picked the one to eliminate pay raises because the amount is downright obscene. It's raises for federal workers. They pick the one that has the most votes and present it to the House of Representives to be voted on. It's a way to get the citizens involved in a say as to what our money is being used for.....
Can you vote to cut all Repub Representatives pay? Now that would be good, they aren't doing anything anyway.
Actually went to the site and made the above suggestion. I wonder if it will be allowed to be voted on....hmmm.
I made the suggestion, that they could all work from home (their home state), and argue the issues on City-Data.................(plus a couple on eliminating all subsidies to business --- corporations and farms). Im sure they wont come up...........even though I did use my 'work' email address.
Of course those with multiple email address's can, vote early and often. (maybe that was the plan to begin with?)

That's a novel idea, but I don't know if it would be all or those in a certain pay grade etc.
And yes, we can suggest programs for elimination. It's all about cutting costs and bringing down that horrible deficit our leaders have gotten us into over the last 40 years.....

Doesn anyone here think this is just a marketing ploy?
Just putting it out there.
Of course it is.
But then crowd-sourcing is the latest trend being sold by all the consultants.
It's cheap and easy to push under the rug, without blinking a eye.
This is a joke because the items you can vote to cut are so miniscule, they are irrelevant--even if they ALL were cut. It's like saying your family budget is $50,000 per year, you have $100,000 in credit card debt, and you can vote whether to buy the cheaper card for a distant relative's birthday card (saving 50 cents), or should you cut your annual contribution to the Salvation Army from $10 to $8 (saving $2).
Totally meaningless, when we have a national debt nearing $14 trillion. The type of cuts we need are more like entirely withdrawing from all these useless foreign wars, and massive cuts in all "entitlement programs," particularly the ones that pay people to have more children they can't support.
