Matthews calls for BP to be nationalized due to the US government being unable to do anything about the oil spill.
I wouldn't go that far but if I was Holder, or one of the AGs in the Gulf States, I would contemplate prosecuting BP and Halliburton for criminal conspiracy.
Not to mention that if corporations are legally considered persons - could corporations get the death penalty? (Matthews hints at using the death penalty against BP executives which is going WAY too far ; I don't think the death penalty should be used lightly - only for high level terrorists if at all. The executives of BP do appear to have committed serious crimes but I don't think the death penalty is the way to go.)
Maybe it is actually quite hard to stop this oil spill.
Its hard to believe that BP is deliberately allowing it to continue. It is in everyones interest to fix it. So maybe it is just harder to do than anyone imagines.
But, then, so much easier to be on the sidelines criticizing as we have seen from certain politicians and their cheerleaders on here.
Hey, maybe they can use his slobber to soak up the oil!
I don't agree with Matthews, but you realize Russia hasn't been communist for quite some time. You might remember Putin slagging Obama for (in his opinion, not mine) taking the US down the same road that destroyed Russia and boasting that he made Russia strong again by embracing capitalism.
BTW, Sarah Palin doesn't have a problem with state petrocapitalism given that the state of Alaska owns all the oil and the oil companies have to pay leases from the state which funds Alaska's generous welfare state. She didn't have a problem with this policy when she was governor.

Anyone have anything to say about this?
How exactly do we "nationalize" a British corporation?
