It's a matter of what's more important to you, if you're truly Christian. To what are you more committed, your earthly goods or your place in God's world as He would have us live? A true Christian would understand this.

Is that verse unfamiliar to you? What does your pastor say of it?
What are you missing? The common sense behind the bible teachings?

Apparently you are.

On the other hand, a person who could read and not have some back-handed agenda would UNDERSTAND where Cyber Queen is coming from. Unlike yourself...so get over the fact that you are trying to corner CQ into something that AIN'T GONNA HAPPEN.

Go worship your tree, your pig, whatever you kneel to (socialism? Having more kids than you can afford so some "christian " rich dude who doesn't have the social issue you do should help you out?) and get over the fact that others don't **** on the bible with pride...as you do ("you" in general, not specific).

Got a bank account? Got $$? At the end of the day, what DO you have? Other than excuses or reasons to take from those who do have jobs and make a good buck and DO believe in Christianity?

You wanna talk religious smack with Jews? What Jews believe in? BRING IT ON. You don't have the PC balls to do so. And you know it. SO KNOCK YOU SHIIT OFF.

Thanks.

They have a point outside of politics? What would that be and who would be paying for it?

Sorry I don't understand the question? "They have a point outside of politics?" Can you clarify what that statement means? You mentioned that you are Catholic. Do you approve or disapprove of the statements made by the Conference of Catholic Bishops? United States Conference of Catholic Bishops

Jesus didn't charge tax payers for the services He gave to the poor/blind/sick/illegals. If He had, it might have been a whole other ball game.
You mean regressive taxation? That would have been a conservative thing to do, besides asking for legal documentation and ensuring they all paid their premiums.

No, it doesn't (and shouldn't).

Quote:
Mark 10:17-31 (King James Version)
17And when he was gone forth into the way, there came one running, and kneeled to him, and asked him, Good Master, what shall I do that I may inherit eternal life?
18And Jesus said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God.
19Thou knowest the commandments, Do not commit adultery, Do not kill, Do not steal, Do not bear false witness, Defraud not, Honour thy father and mother.
20And he answered and said unto him, Master, all these have I observed from my youth.
21Then Jesus beholding him loved him, and said unto him, One thing thou lackest: go thy way, sell whatsoever thou hast, and give to the poor, and thou shalt have treasure in heaven: and come, take up the cross, and follow me.

22And he was sad at that saying, and went away grieved: for he had great possessions.
23And Jesus looked round about, and saith unto his disciples, How hardly shall they that have riches enter into the kingdom of God!
24And the disciples were astonished at his words. But Jesus answereth again, and saith unto them, Children, how hard is it for them that trust in riches to enter into the kingdom of God!
25It is easier for a camel to go through the eye of a needle, than for a rich man to enter into the kingdom of God.
26And they were astonished out of measure, saying among themselves, Who then can be saved?
27And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible.
28Then Peter began to say unto him, Lo, we have left all, and have followed thee.
29And Jesus answered and said, Verily I say unto you, There is no man that hath left house, or brethren, or sisters, or father, or mother, or wife, or children, or lands, for my sake, and the gospel's,
30But he shall receive an hundredfold now in this time, houses, and brethren, and sisters, and mothers, and children, and lands, with persecutions; and in the world to come eternal life.
31But many that are first shall be last; and the last first.
And as I said, version doesn't matter. Message is consistent and clear. See the bold in green, since for some reason you keep missing it. Or, do you just prefer to skip it? You see, following the commandments wasn't enough for the guy.

He could have just said... sure, leave everything and follow me. Jesus had the poor at His heart. How could He?
