Considering how much attention this thread has gotten explains why I never thought a thread on Berkman would ever appear.

Good point. I discovered that most people here want banal and or knee-jerk reactionary posts. Anything of real substance is usually passed over; present company excluded of course.

More likely because he is an anarchist who has been dead for over 70 years.

And that means he has nothing to offer us through his writings? You are not trying to prove my above observation true are you?

After listering to clip I think not. It isn't original (it may have been 70+ years ago). You can wander most college campus' in this country and hear this kind of thing.

So his influence lives on. Now his ideas just need to be implemented.

Anarchism is rapidly increasing in popularity amongst young people in the US due to the horrendous economic situation. The spread of far left ideas hasn't gotten as much coverage as the spread of far right ideas but it is increasingly happening. While Daddy's joining the Tea Party Junior's joining the Black Brigades. This unfortunately will persist unless/until there is a massive reduction in unemployment.

Anarchism is talked about on the C-D boards more and more, and if I knew how to make a C-D poll I'd make one as to whether C-D should have a subforum to discuss anarchism (pro and con) just like it has a subforum for illegal immigration.
