No. Americans are very unhappy with the way Washington is being run - and that falls right in the lap of the democrats.

Anti-incumbency is a factor, but the dems and media would like you to believe that obama/pelosi/reid policies and the way they have done things (obamacare) have no bearing on the mood of the country.

That is hogwash.

Most polls I've seen show Americans being equally as unhappy with the Republican response to Obama's policies as they are with the policies themselves actually. So I think it is largely just anti-incumbent and anti-establishment, which, as you did allude to, will certainly hurt Democrats more than the GOP since they have more to lose.
