But Israel has the military might to "obliterate" Gaza if they wished. Gaza does not have the military might to do much more than the occasional suicide bomb and lobbing rockets into Israel (thanks to the blockade, one might add).

What would Gaza do if they did have the power to obliterate Israel? Does anyone have any doubt?

Hamas was elected in by the people of Palestine, much to the regret of Israel and just about everyone else in the international communicity. There are moderates in Palestine that could be good leaders. Regrettfully for just about anyone, including Palestinian's, Hamas has the power.

One of the very few differences left from Nazi Germany, I should add. The Germans didn't care for other countries. Israel, on the other hand, expects hand outs and plays the victim card at EVERY opportunity. Style might be different, but intent is no different.

Even a Chihuahua could bite if it were threatened and cornered like the Palestinians have been. Here we're talking people. The more Israel acts like this, the deeper it digs its grave.

I know. Many Israelis called President Bush the father of Hamastine. The "victory" was to get rid of PLO, only to be supplanted by Hamas. You know what the problem is? Lack of understanding (and desire) to understand why Palestianians would retaliate and put Hamas etc to power. They sell them dreams about being free, at any cost. They are their freedom fighters. To Israel and the media controlled by Israeli interests, they are terrorists. It is simply a matter of perspective.

It's his liberal self loathing that's at issue.
Can you make one post without an insult of some kind? Such hatred makes this thread tough to follow.

So, what you believe is that highly trained Israeli special ops commandos who were airlifted onto these ships in the middle of the night, toting automatic weapons, and likely night vision equipment were overtaken by civilians with sticks and knives? This you believe? THIS IS WHAT YOU BELIEVE????

My God, how can such thoughts be processed and accepted without the aid of hypnosis? A conscious human mind could not possibly accept such outlandish nonsense.

On the count of three, you will wake up ... 1 .... 2 ..... 3.
What an embarassing post you did:
The video shown (by, incidently, people from the blockade I think) very clearly does indeed show this - Soldiers dropping down (I did not see automatic weapons) and immediately being overcome with swinging clubs. You literally see dozens of clubs swinging up and down to prone figures, and at least one soldier thrown overboard and dropping some distance.

Why were the Israeli soldiers dropping down on a ship in international waters? What gave them the right?

My response above was to GuyinTexas who appears to have a problem believing his eyes. I am not sure of the doctrine or legality of the blockade, but it's clear a blockade is needed.

My complaint with the Israeli action really is one of tactics - you don't approach a military action like a police action, or a police action like a military action. You do one or the other - come heavy or not at all.
The problem, really, is the Israeli's didn't show enough force. Coming on board with paintball rifles and handguns? You get an angry mob, and their is going to be trouble. If you are going to drop down on deck you do with automatic weapons locked and loaded and drop anyone that takes a move towards you. You don't wait until half your men are down.

But this is second guessing. It really is a failure of intellegence. This ship was intent on running a blockade for no other reason than to run the blockade, they were looking for trouble. Don't give it to them - are there not other methods? Incapacitate the vessel, spray it with high power water hoses, physically block it with larger vessels, etc.

It would seem that the majority of the world recognizes this sensless attack for what it is. An unlawful attack committed by Israel.

And you know the facts how ???

Videa posted here, clearly showing Israeli's grabbed by mobs as soon as they drop on board, clubs swinging and at least one thrown overboard. Even some nut trying to grap the drop rope and tie it to the vessel to bring the chopper down.

Paintballs to pistols, Israel admits ship blunders - Yahoo! News (http://news.yahoo.com/s/nm/20100601/ts_nm/us_israel_flotilla_tactics - broken link)

So useless, on both sides - the flotilla - totally uneccessary to try to run any blockade...the Israelis - take them down, yeah, but do it right! Note the last minute with the Israeli officer stating over the mic "....Israelis support humanitarian aid to Gaza, please port in Israel and we will unload and inspect, and deliver over land, all aid, under your observation...." Almost pleading with them.

An absolutely shameful post.
Israel = Nazi Germany
Jews control the media
etc., etc., etc.

It's obvious where you're coming from.
You and GuyNTexas are a perfect pair. And of course there are the others in your hate group. This thread is riddled with your kind, flocking here like vultures hovering over a carcass. Well Israel is not a carcass, as much as you would love it to be.

I was waiting to get "the rest of the story" before commenting on this one.

Seems to me, the Israelis were attacked while enforcing their embargo. While I disagree with a lot of what Israel does, in this case, I believe they were justified.

And, just today, they said they want to lower the restrictions on the embargo.
