I guess Ayres' caring about injustice is selective. For years the left badgered Israel about trading land for peace. Ariel Sharon finally acceded and surrendered control of Gaza to the PLO. Hamas, a terrorist organization, seized Gaza from Fatah and promptly used the territory to bombard Israeli communities. Israel established a naval blockade of Gaza to prevent the arming of Hamas. Notably the blockade did not restrict Gaza's access to medicines, food and other humanitarian necessities. So the rocketing of Israelis is not an injustice that Ayres cares about. But preventing the lethal supplying of terrorists bent on killing every Jew in sight is an injustice that Ayres deeply cares about. Is this where one uses the term 'Orwellian?'

The make-shift scrap metal rocket attacks on Israel killed 8 Israelis over the course of two years. In retaliation, the IDF killed 320 Palestinian children "alone". In one Month December 08 .This is documented in the UN's Goldstone report.
