I am talking to everybody here with this post. Righties and all forms of lefties all of you are being questioned about this. Go ahead and watch the video and then answer my question.

YouTube - Jon Voight calls out Barack Obama

I very much doubt that he will be allowed to speak words like this on national tv by then unless something GOOD happens in the upcoming national election. He may not be able to even with the left losing that election. THEY have accomplished so much in just 1 1/2 years that who knows what they can do in the next two years.

Why wouldn't he?

Are you suggesting Obama would do away with the 1st Amendment?

No one has stopped Glenn Beck, Fox News, Rush Limbaugh or a myriad other right wingers from spouting off. So what makes you think Jon Voight will not be able to.

There's no need to even view the video.

If the question is whether the First Amendment will continue to be in effect in two years, the answer is yes.

We have endured many years of administrations who were determined to crush internal dissent, including the Nixon and Bush administrations, yet the Constitution abides. Whatever your unhinged imaginings may lead you to believe, the Constitution will survive the current Congress and President.

Why wouldn't he be able to talk like that? Do you have any examples of people being punished for speaking out against the president?

Why wouldn't he be able to talk like this two years from now?

What is your line of thought behind this?

He has, and always will have the right to say whatever he likes.

Just as anyone else who disagrees has the right to speak against it, or agrees has the right to speak for it.

The amendment doesn't have any bearing if anyone cares, that people will champion his opinion for him, it won't force people to publish it, and certainly won't force people to believe in it. It's usually crazy cranks that think the first amendment is reinterpreted to allow only the people they agree with to speak freely and somehow silence their critics for them. Some real loons think it means everyone must applaud them as well.
