they're falling all over themselves trying to perform damage control.
so much for 'tranparency' and ending 'politics as usual'

"It is clear that the Obama Administration is not capable of living up to the same standards they campaigned on and an independent investigation is necessary to learn all the facts," said Republican National Committee Chairman Michael Steele.
To everyone complaining about this. Did you have a problem with Reagan doing the exact same thing in a California Primary??
Did he now? The person you are speaking of was unsure whether he wanted to run for office again, and he ended up not running. Sestak did want to run, and he ended up winning.

Is this the "change" in DC we were promised?
You're absolutely correct. Obama is exactly the same c**p as every president and amdministration before him. Nothing new here.
This is exactly what ......Ford, Carter, Ronald Reagan, Geroge Bush Sr, Bill Clinton, George Bush Jr did. Nothing new, here. Nothing's changed.
Same old political tactics.
Question is this:
A) Would Republicans be equally outspoken, equally determined to go after and equally disgusted if this was a Republican President who had promised "Change"?
B) Or would Republicans be too busy spinning tales, tap dancing and doing the Twist to defend their partisan loyalties?
"Mr. Romanoff was recommended to the White House from Democrats in Colorado for a position in the administration," White House deputy press secretary Bill Burton said. "There were some initial conversations with him but no job was ever offered."
I find it hilarious that you still believe the WH. Especially after the PA senate race lies. . . . How easily some are duped.
A pattern is emerging. When does RICO come into play?
I'm waiting for the third shoe to drop: What the WH offered Patterson to persuade him not to run for election. Luckily for them Patterson so screwed up his own election prospects that the WH didn't need to do anything after that.

Inquiring minds want to know.
The better question is, why do you and the others that think like you think it is ok to not follow laws? What I get out of this is that you guys WANT the elections to be rigged or tampered with as long as your party gets what they want. Is that the case here? Why aren't you speaking out against bad ethics from an administration that promised to end that behavior. You trust them after all their lies? Really? You're easy to get over on I see.

He was still offered a job by Reagan in order to drop out.

You got that right, just like the Presidential election of 2000.
But the reported interchange between Mr. Romanoff and Jim Messina, the deputy White House chief of staff, crosses the line from business as usual to unseemly. Mr. Romanoff had applied for an administration job during the transition, to no effect. Suddenly, when his Senate candidacy posed trouble, there appeared Mr. Messina who, according to Mr. Romanoff, called and "suggested three positions that might be available to me were I not pursuing the Senate race.
As the article states;
Substitute Messina for Rove and what would the reaction be? I surmise we could predict the outcome.
