I am amazed at what an insightful and informative thread this turned out to be. Kudos to James420 for starting it and to all of you whose answers were well-thought out and reasonable.
I learned something....about the "tokens" getting their reward for being long-term party faithfuls.
I agree that vetting should be done by someone else.
Don't know about Hillary; she just looks kind of beat down these days.
I think the Republicans will gain seats in the Senate and the House in the Midterm elections, but not as many as some people are predicting. The period between now and November 6th, 2012 (the day of the Presidential Election) will be a very pivotal time in American history. I think one of two paths will be taken:
One- Republicans gain a fair amount of seats in the Midterm elections. Between then and 2012, America continues to tilt further and further to the right. Obama drops to Bush like approval ratings. Republican wins in 2012 with a good percentage, leading to Conservative rule for a period of time.
Two- Republicans make slight gains or hold steady, and the economy shows signs of improvement between then and 2012. Socialized measures begin to take hold, and Americans begin to grasp a European government type system. Despite a good amount of people strongly opposing him, Obama wins re-election, ushering in a new era of European style quazi-Socialism.
he has already lost...
he has proven to be a much worst president that Jimmy Carter
I thought Bush was bad...HA
I miss Geroge Bush compared to Obama
and
hell has frozen over!!
I see everybody still thinks in binary terms, everybody has picked a side...even though those "sides" will never do a darn thing for you.
If Nader runs, I'll vote for him, again, for the fourth time, provided Kucinich isn't the Dem choice. HA! The establishment would never support such an independent thinker.
Kucinich is far more likely to challenge Obama than Hillary. Russ Feingold, also.
In fact, I'd consider Hillary to be as likely to challenge Obama as Rahm Emanuel. She has a very difficult job to do and is concentrating on doing it. Besides, the corporate centrists have far less against Obama than the left, who backed him early and have recieved nothing for their support.
I've heard talk that Nader in 2012, instead of running for President, will run for US Senate from his native Connecticut against Joe Lieberman.
Ok so I read through all 4 pages but I never saw the answer to this question:

I'd really love to know since I haven't seen nor heard anything about this and I really hate to be uninformed.
As for the OP; sure he can lose. I voted for him and I'm not at all happy with him. He spends too much time catering to the whims of the crazy instead of actually doing something. One thing I will say about Bush he didn't really give a damn about the media perception of him or his actions.
If it's one thing I can't stand it's a sensitive man.
I realize it's not impossible for him to lose but in my short time it hasn't happened very much.
