Do you know how much money us consumers will actually save by drilling offshore in our nation's waters? Look it up.

This talking point that the environmentalists are to blame for this disaster is complete B.S. Of course you parrots will repeat anything Limbaugh says, that's all you got.
Stereotype much? LOL!

I'd be curious to know how you came to live in Pacific Palisades. I wonder just how much hypocrisy we'd find if we knew your background and how you came to be so privileged...

(For the uninformed, Pacific Palisades is one of the most exclusive cities in California).

And a government that approved their drilling with no response plan.
And a government with a disaster plan they couldn't implement (no fire booms).

Epic fail all around.

That would have to be you, I guess, since you found some connection with it and my post, and I didn't even know she had one.

Was this accident inevitable? Here is the dept that was supposed to oversee the oil companies :

The Interior Department’s watchdog issued a scathing report on the government’s oil drilling regulator, accusing its employees of accepting gifts from the industry, doing drugs and exchanging pornography-filled e-mails.

and did BP ignore safety ?

BP Pressured Rig Worker to Hurry Before Disaster, Father Says
The highest-ranking crew member to perish aboard the Deepwater Horizon drilling rig warned his family that BP Plc was pressuring him to sacrifice safety for the sake of time and money, his father said.

And where is the EPA in all this ?
Aren't they the Environmental Protection Agency ?

True.

I have issue with the incompetence at play concerning this spill.

NOAA formulated a plan in 1994 to handle this type of major spill. It was called ""In-Situ Burn." We would use barriers called "fire boom" to collect and contain the spill at sea and then burn it off. The plan was formulated for a quick response. It was projected that they would be able to burn off 95% of the oil. Jindal requested booms and there were no booms on site. Jindal pleaded for booms. At some point, which we have now arrived, it's too late for the booms.

Someone needs to answer for this. Why did you not implement the plan you had in place?

Get a diesel car and run on vegetable oil. Get a bicycle. Use public transportation. There are plenty of choices for the tree huggers. They aren't that practicle but they are there.

I know it was an attempt at sarcastic humor, but why would the person who is so obviously at the forefront of being against such practices be the one to fix it? He clearly knows, as most intelligent and ecologically savvy people do, that this irreversible tragedy is the very reason that this type of drilling should not be an option in the first place...It can't be fixed! Corporate America or Corporate Britian takes a dump and someone else shoul clean up the mess? Sounds very right wing.
