If a “middle eastern” looking guy was on a flight headed to New York and stood up and said something to the effect “ I have got a _ _mb (a word that sounded like bomb)”. I can guarantee you that most people on that plane will initially fear that he said he has a bomb.
People are CONDITIONED what to believe. Every action produces a reaction. Terrorism conditions fear. Racism conditions fears. You cannot go over 300 years as an overtly racist nation and not expect black people not to be conditioned, as a human reaction, to see racism in certain behavior and or motives of whites, when it can or does potentially negatively impact blacks people. A nation that planted and tilled racism should not be surprised by what it harvests. The harviest is a DIRECT RESULT of what was planted.
I don't blame black people for seeing racism when there is none. I blame the rest of us for entertaining and treating there irrationality seriously. We are enablers. There is a 12 step program for co-dependents.

Wait a minute, most segegration laws ended in 1964 and the only main one that was left was housing which ended in 1968.
I don't see how that affected your three years of life at that point.

Soooo....if you rob a bank with a authentic looking toy gun.....have you committed armed robbery in the eyes of the law? ITs obvious to the robber that it is a toy gun....but its not obvious to the victim. That is analogous to saying something that SOUNDS racist, but is not, to black people. You cannot allow things to be said that SOUND racist...even though they are not. To black people...thats a REAL GUN...to a lot of us.

If I walked down the street and said "look at that ditch digger" to my friend, and a black woman walked by and in her mind, exchanged the first d for a b, and the second d for a n, that is HER fault.

I am 45 years old. I was born when racial segregation, as law, was alive and well. I exist currently in a nation where white folks like you feel supreme enough to tell black people what is right and wrong...with us and for us....as if we cannot and have not figured that out for ourselves.
At 45 years old you've never been a slave, you've never been owned as a slave and no relative you've ever known was ever a slave either.
If these so-called "supreme" white folks are telling black people something they already know why haven't they fixed it yet? How many more decades do you need to correct the problem or do you just want to blame all of it on whitey like you're doing right now?
Face it man, there are millions of successful black Americans who would laugh at the BS you're spewing and millions of poor white Americans who would kill to live in your shoes. Skin color mean nothing unless you want it to and you obviously do want it to be an issue in every aspect of your life. At 45 you should be more worried about your health, your family and your future than the past which you can't change and you didn't live through.

Cannot believe I am saying this but I agree.
I feel that we as a nation must not forget the shameful part of our past where Africa Americans were enslaved. HOWEVER, that does not give the African Americans of today the right to bring it up 24/7 and feel like they are victims. They arent slaves.....their relatives aren't slaves and in addition to that, no white person who is currently alive has slaves.
Forgive but don't forget.
There are successful black AND white people. It is all about what you put your mind too. NOT your skin color.
