We don't have many BP gas stations in my area but if we did I wouldn't boycott them because it won't do any good other than to possibly hurt the jobs of the middle class guys working behind the counter. If you don't buy gas from BP someone will, whether it's your neighbor or China someone will buy it.
There are very few BPs or Exxons convenient to where I typically drive. So, I'm technically not boycotting, but they aren't getting any of my business and very rarely have in the past.
I mean oil is not just used for gasoline. How do you know your tupperware isn't made from BP crude?
Also BP is all over the world from Australia to all over Europe and some in South America I think. If the entire country boycotted em they would just shut down and cost a bunch of folks their jobs and in a year most likely get a new logo and be back in bidness and nobody would know the difference.

I certainly don't disagree with you. Which raises a larger point: America will never be free of oil dependency. Too may products rely on it. But that's for another thread.
Obviously i'm pained by the actual oil spill, but the CEO's of BP have been less than stellar in their interviews - almost like its just another day in the oil business. For that reason, I have trouble contributing to their golden parachute, which I believe will be handed out pretty soon as this crisis unfolds.
