I noticed the Cole bomber thread and it reminds of something else that's important.

Not only can we not prosecute and serve justice to the Cole bomber, as well as the other terrorists we have in custody, and we couldnt even get the new WTC buildings built!

Its been 9 years! 9 frickin years and you walk by the site and theyve made next to no progress! What the hell is the hold up? Why is it, when there is something important that needs to be or should be done, that it takes for damn ever to get it done?

We cant secure our border and deal with the immigration issue. Keeps getting put off and off.

We cant prosecute terrorists in a timely manner.

And we cant rebuild the WTC.

It makes me absolutely sick. Things need to be made to happen. There is no way this just 'process" issues. Thats bull. If the people who had the power to move things forward, really really really wanted to, they could make things happen. Where the hell is the sense of urgency? Where the hell is the pride? Where the hell is the want to?

There is absolutely NO excuse for the WTC site to be in the shape its in today. NONE. Its a slap in the face to the victims for nothing to have been built yet. It's a slap in the face to America, frankly.

I love this country, but these scenarios are just un-American. America is suppose to be about can-do. Not dilly dally on important issues

Talk to our Government, about where the hell is our AMERICAN PRIDE! See what kind of answers you get back. If there even is a sense of urgency on this matter with them. There are people who have the power to move things in the right direction, but do they choose to do the right things!

As a nation we are WEAK. We have went from being a nation of DOERS to a nation of WHINERS. We all want cell phones that work but no antenna towers. We all want to be able to get from place to place but without roads, highways, trains, buses and new runways at the airport. We all want more and cheaper electric power but no plants or transmission lines. We are all a country of fat lazy people who think everything is "too hard". We don't even want to mow the lawn anymore then we gripe when the Mexicans sneak over and do it. We are WEAK. The Duke would be ashamed of this country if he could see what it has become.

As for the WTC, there was NO reason to "redesign" it. The 2 towers should have been put right back up AS they were and WHERE they were as quickly as the rubble could be moved. The memorial should have been placed elsewhere if a memorial was needed. When I was in my 20s many years ago and living in Kansas City, a walkway collapsed at the Hyatt and killed over 100 people. They did not destroy the hotel or the lobby where it took place. It is still there today. And there is no memorial of the event to be seen. The WTC is a place of business and not a place for a "wailing wall" to be built. If one is to be built, it should have been placed in the quiet serenity of Central Park.
