as a boy, my parents made sure i knew how to cook at least the basics by the time i was in junior high, and i got a grand champion baker ribbon at the county fair when i was 13; and over the years i've had girlfriends who couldn't cook toast.
it definitely seems like cooking is becoming a lost skill. which is a real shame, because there's no better way of stretching a scarce food dollar than using it to buy unprocessed raw food like beans, rice, eggs, chicken, etc.
It sure doesn't take much of an IQ to learn how to cook. If that's really the reason food stamp people are loading their shopping carts with ice creams, cookies, potato chips, and lobster, then why don't the welfare offices provide a couple of cooking classes?
It's really retarded to think that a $4 bag of potato chips is cheaper than a $3 5-pound bag of raw potatos or $1 bag of carrots or that a $4 carton of soft drinks is cheaper than a $3.50 gallon of milk.
But it is also their money, so, they can tell you that you can't tell them what to do with their money
It's not their money, it's the money confiscated from working people as some kind of distorted false government "charity". The government only has money it takes from the people to dole out.
They are using food stamps to pay for their lobster.
I'm using my own cash to pay for my tuna.
That is the difference.
But you claimed them using food stamps is using your money, but it is also their money....
You say that you should have a say in what they purchase because it is your money, but if it is also their money, they have a say in what they purchase.

Many people that are receiving SNAP benifits either have worked and contributed their own taxes into the program.. and also many that are receiving these benifits are still working and still paying their taxes.
As I have already stated, many of them are also working and paying taxes....
many of them worked previously, and are now unemployed, but did pay taxes and contributed also.
Failure on your part my friend.
Paying "taxes" and getting more benefits then you pay isn't exactly paying anything is it? And thats what, 47% of americans?
