Love all the advice...We are looking for a second home in the PSL area. We are in our 50's and looking for a newer house - The house needs to be dog friendly and a place the older kids can visit with their families, so...3+ Beds, pool, fenced backyard, quiet...oh, and in the $150,000 range...any ideas where to start...THANKS!

Eventually, we would probably live there, but for now, would split time - so a house we could close up for a few weeks/a month before we would be down again.

Consider Vizcaya Falls. A couple of new construction homes and some just a few years old. Gorgeous lake and beautiful clubhouse pool. Gated with a great community feel.

Re Vizcaya - the website looks great - I am wondering if the the HOA is in the residents hands or the developer? And whether the development was completed or not.

the development has not been completed by any means. Their clubhouse is open and avail to residents, but a lot of homes still to be built. One side of the development backs up directly to the turnpike- the second story of some of the homes literallly looks down on the cars passing.

There are many developments you could consider, mostly in the western PSL area. There is: Lake Charles, Magnolia Lakes, Lake Forest, Lake Forest Pointe, PGA Village (although $150 won't go there), Country Club Estates, Cascades (55 and older), all along St Lucie West Blvd. There is also Tradition which is made up of 7 different communities within, and there is Newport Isles, both along I95 at Gatlin Blvd just a mile down from St Lucie West Blvd. ... to name a few of the major ones.

You DO have a choice. Just a matter of which one you like the best.
