Is this a good place to buy a vacation house? How is the real estate market of this area lately?

Thanks for any information.

White City? Can I ask how you came to choose that area?

I am from San Francisco Bay area. I like to vacate somewhere warm, quiet, safe, with open space but not so deserted. I like to live somewhere people are relaxed. Living in California for so many years I don't mind rude people at all, I just can't tolerate crime. South Florida seems to be a little too crowded to me. White City seems to be quiet, but not so far from Miami, Orlando, or airport in case I want to return to earth.

hummm...having been to SF Bay area 15 times (my own personal fav vacation spot!) I would not really personally recommend White City. I think you'd be lost there. It's part of Ft Pierce which others can talk about or you can read about here....since you "can't tolerate crime".

Other places I can suggest depending on what you actually want. Condo, house, etc.

I want house. Are you serious about the crime of White City? I checked the crime data and it seems to be OK at white city, even though Fort Pierce is really bad.

White City is actually a very small area - unless you used a street address it's difficult.

It is usually just called Ft Pierce. Have you been here in person?

Sure I drove down southern florida several times. Can't say I am very familiar with it, but sort of understand how the life would like down there.

Check out south Port Saint Lucie, I am sure a realtor can help you better. But most of PSL is pretty save and low crime. If you like fishing, boating, beaches, and outdoors activities its a nice place to spend vacation. Disney World and the greater Orlando area is only about a 2 1/2 hr drive. West Palm Beach is 1hr to the south. Miami area about 2 hr to the south.

It may work well for a vacation home especially during the winter months of the year. Check out the area some more and get a good feel for the neighborhoods.
