Merry Christmas everyone, i am staying in Stuart over the Holiday, with kids, and am wondering what we should see. Please note my children have never see an ALLdigator or snakes, we are from way up north.. We would like to go out on a boat into areas that show us the local flora, fauna and critters. What beach should we visit, the thought of a shark terrifies me, but i know they are not common. Please give me suggestion... Again I hope you are all blessed this season and the forthcoming year.

I doubt you will see a shark, and with this cold weather, I doubt you will see anyone on the beach except those with jackets on! LOL!

You might want to check out the zoos in S Fla to get a look at all kinds of Florida and more!

Default Enjoying the area

Well we are enjoying ourselves, even if it very cold. We went over to Port Lucy and walked the beach, it was lovely to dip our toes in the Altantic, found some shells and ate at the Blue Hurrican , the staff was wow, the food great, and it seemed to be full of local pleasant people, next we went to Miami Zoo on Christmas day, it was fabulous, it was if the zoo was ours, maybe 100 people, we watched the elephants and gorilla open their Christmas gifts, it was funny, almost like the kids, rip and tear. The new baby pygmy hippo is so sweet and amazing, i never knew they existed, only 2nd day in the pool for the public to see. We also got over to Vero beach yesterday, wow, so that is how the other half lives, it is nice, but I sure love my wide open spaces. We saw dolphins jumping at Vero Beach,by resort disney, it was great, my first sighting of them in their natural habitat, we are still plugging away and loving the changes we see, I like the plants, very different than fir trees, and hardwoods, thanks for the suggestion, and happy new year to all.

Make sure you get to Florida Oceanographic center. It's in Stuart on Hutchinson Island. You can feed and pet the stingrays and they'll eat out of your hand. Very cool and not something you get to do everyday. We always took our guests there and they loved it.
