Hi everyone! My high school friend is coming in from Cali for a visit and would like some ideas on where to take her. We live in Port St. Lucie but the 6 of us will travel to Vero or Stuart. Some of you may know that I have lived here for quite some time (14 years) but it's been about 4 years since I've gone to any really nice restaurants, two kids kinda does that to your life!

Been to all the big chains as most of them are kid friendly, but looking for something a little more intimate - NO KIDS this Saturday night...maybe some beachside restaurants, or really cool restaurants that offer the "experience" (similar to Benihana's or Melting Pot)

Looking to spend around $15-$20 per person. Suggestions please!

I may not know the area all that well, but here is a site listing some restaurants that you may like.

Unhappy Awwwww.....They forgot to list my fav restaurant......

The list provided by the pp is a good start.
However, they did not list my fav restaurant at the downtown Stuart corner called "Gusto".
All servers are straight from Italy, and the food is being prepared infront of your very own eyes in an open kitchen area. The decor reminds me, hands down, of a place directly from europe.....very modern, and stylish.
It's an absolut MUST for people to stop there at least once!!!
Maybe a bit more on the pricey side, but still not outrages for WHAT you get, and the size of the portions.
I am a religious customer there since more then 4 years now, and still return.....
That says something, because me and my husband are sooooo picky, when it comes to restaurants and food. (DH has been in the restaurant biz since 24 years, and he know's the do's and dont's....lol)
But, on that note, just have a good time and a blast...the friends you are with will make the restaurant!!
Have fun!

We enjoy:

Courtine's in Stuart

Gusto in downtown Stuart

The Ashley in downtown Stuart

The Flagler Grille in downtown Stuart

West End Grille in St. Lucie West

I'm not sure if any of these restaurants fit your listed budget though.

We are willing to spend a little more for a good experience.
You are definitely right, MovingBack, the friends will make the restaurant.

I've heard good things about West End Grille, Do you think we will be able to get in on Saturday night? Maybe it's bigger inside, it looks small from the outside.

What kind restaurant is Courtines? I have never heard of it, where is it?

I could swear it's the one right near/ by the Rosevelt Bridge, underneath the overpass. There is yet another good restaurant, but.....awwwww...... can't remember the name.
Maybe that's Courtines....but, please, don't take my word for it on this one!

Gusto in Stuart is a good place!

And if you want to drive to Jupiter, Nick's Tomato Pie off of Indiantown is good as well.

I've been to Nick's, great food. I think we will check out Gusto's.
What kind of attire will we need to wear? Is it a dressy type of place?

11 Maple Drive was an excellent fine dining restaurant in Stuart or there abouts. If you can find it go. Keep in mind it was great about five years ago and hopefully still is. Bon Appetit!
