Hi, I'm currently interested in renting an apartment in Vero Beach and I was wondering if anyone could suggest a few apartment complexes that are safe and not specifically for "low income" people. If you can also post the current rent range for a 1 bedroom or 2 bedroom apartments, that'd be great so I can have an idea on what's "too cheap to be decent" or "so expensive that you're getting ripped off."

I found a few on google maps that had reviews on apartmentratings.com, but for some of the apartments the reviews were pretty old. So if anyone lives, or has lived in any of the apartments in Vero Beach, I'd be very grateful. One of the apartments I found with old but good reviews was Canterbury apartments, is is still a good place? This is the current price range for one of their apartment: "Square Feet:884 Bedrooms:2 Bathrooms:1 Rent:$695" does this sound right?

I've been reading a lot about Vero Beach and so far i like what i've heard. I've got a job so that's covered, I love peace and quiet so I don't mind if it's too quiet, like some people have said. My girlfriend and I will be visiting family in Port ST. Lucie this week, so we can probably go visit some of the apartments in Vero Beach while we're there.

Thanks in advance!

Why not so much now? You're looking to retire and Port St Lucie has plenty to offer and prices are great.

I read your previous posts and see that you are still struggling with where to move to from New Orleans and still be close enough to Ft Lauderdale family.

Yes, you can rent for a year and look around. Lots of rentals available depending on what you are looking for.

As to the poster above you, there are apartments along St Lucie West Blvd and I95 that go from $800 up and there is nothing wrong with living there. Not low income places and plenty of shopping literally across the street.

If you are looking for $600 or less, well, yes, that puts you in another category and there isn't much available.
