St Lucie Co consists of a wide area that includes Ft Pierce and Port St Lucie. If you are moving from out of the area it would depend on where you plan to work and the convenience of getting there. If you are retired or work from home, then, it's up to you.
My suggestion would be to come down for a few days and look around with some criteria in mind as to what you are looking for.
Are you going to rent, purchase, what price, what things do you like, what kind of lifestyle are you leaving and looking for.. etc.
Thanks for the answers. I live in New Jersey, and am considering moving into the area because beaches are nearby (my dream). I am not the "excitement" type, just a guy and his dog. My interests would include, biking, swimming, and fishing.
Well, you are on the coast so the beaches are here no matter where you choose. In this area the St Lucie river is huge and there are bridges to cross to get to the actual beach. There is one dog beach you can go to as well. Other beaches are not dog friendly. Fishing--- that's a given- its everywhere as is boating, kayaking, canoing, etc.
