Hello- I'm new to this site and I'm hoping I will get some helpful advice. I want to buy a vacation home in St. Lucie County and I can't decide which area would be best. I'm not concerned about schools but would like the area to be safe. I would like a newer condo or home and not extremely far from the beach. Also I don't want expensive HOA fees.

You mentioned safe... an important word in your choice of where to have a vacation home where you will not be living full time. My suggestions would be Port St Lucie.

No doubt my vote would be Port Saint Lucie. Good luck in your search and see the Realtors on this site. They know the areas.

Have you spent any time in either location? Both are fair choices as in not ideal....
