Taste of the South BBQ Festival
September 1, 2012 at 11:00 AM - 10:00 PM Vetaran's Park, Fort Pierce

The festival will showcase the best barbecue the Southeast region has to offer — more than 75 items from barbecued chicken to baby backs to pulled pork sandwiches. And don’t miss Dee’s world-famous conch fritters. Live music is by The Russ Maxwell Band, Felix Moss and the Easy People Band, Rustico Drop, Jon Sills, and Jon Emil. There are more than 100 arts and crafts booths registered, and there’s a giant Kidzone. Free

The Taste of the South BBQ Festival will be benefitting the Pilot Club of Ft Pierce an non-profit organization which is a local chapter of Pilot International, an international organization of volunteers focused on helping people affected by brain-related disorders. =============================================== PILOT CLUB - Pilot Club of Ft Pierce FL =============================================== The Taste of the South BBQ Festival is excited to be bringing in it’s inaugural with the Pilot Club of Ft Pierce on Sept. 1, 2012 at Riverwalk Center. There will be BBQ from all over the south for festival-goers of all ages to enjoy. The word is out that the place to be the Labor Day weekend is The Taste of the South BBQ Festival.


Parking is available at both the City and County parking garages as well as downtown, which are all within walking distance of the Festival. To get there, take Exit 129 off I-95 (Okeechobee Rd.) and drive east on SR-70 about 4 miles. You will turn left on US-1 and continue north another 2 miles until you hit Seaway Dr. and turn right one block (Indian River Dr)and we will be on the left. You’ll know you’re in the right place as you see the crowds gathering so arrive early.

The Pilot Club of Fort Pierce/Port St. Lucie is a local chapter of Pilot International, an international service organization “piloting” projects and services needed in our Community. Focused on information and prevention of traumatic brain injuries and education about brain-related disorders, the Fort Pierce Chapter has been active in this community for over 60 years, contributing their time and talents to help better the lives of local residents. About The Pilot International Foundation The Pilot International Foundation is the charitable arm of Pilot International, a global organization of approximately 25,000 adult and youth members who are working together to improve the quality of life in local communities and throughout the world. Pilot's service focus is helping people affected by brain disorders and disabilities through volunteer activities, projects and fund‑raisers.

The 1st Annual Taste of the South BBQ Festival will take place Sept 1st, 2012 at Veteran’s Memorial Park from 10am til 10pm. The festival looks to be an annual Ft Pierce tradition and features great food, music, exhibits, arts and crafts and so much more

IT WAS FREE!! I went for a bit and had the conch fritters... yum.. Music was excellent while I was there
