We moved into our house mid June 1600+ sq. ft. pool/spa combo our last months bill was $235. I was expecting it to more since we do have a pool/spa and we run the pump 8-10 hrs a day, thermostat stays at 72 degrees day and night. Plus 2 kids that are constantly leaving lights, TV and computers on. I do laundry everyday and cook at least 1-2 meal a day. We have FPL (Florida power and Light).

How do you get FPL, never hear of two companies, is it a choice?

I came from Miami and we did not have a choice there. It was FPL only. I'm not sure what the choices are in the Treasure Coast but I recommend going with FPL. They are seriously the best. They are on top of anything and everything. When there is an outage they come out ASAP to fix it. They also call you with updates regarding the outage. They even call you to tell you a technician has arrived to fix it and <X> many people are affected by this outage. FPL in my opinion is an all-star company and I could only wish other companies would follow them as an example of how to manage things.

I don't think you have a choice it depends on the area you live... FPL service a certain area and then the other company service another portion. Look up FLORIDA POWER AND LIGHT online call them and give them the address. If you have a realtor they should be able to tell you the electric company for each house...
