My husband and I are considering moving to either PSL or WPB. There seem to be more job opportunities for his profession in WPB. Anyway, we live in a very quiet, safe town in Southeastern PA. Virtually zero crime. While we welcome the fact that there will be more to do in Fl, I am concerned that on most websites I look at, the crime rate seems to be high. We have two very young children, and I want to be sure they grow up in a safe community. I've lived in this same town my entire life and am looking for a change. Florida has beautiful beaches and warm weather. It seems so perfect, but is it too good to be true?

Florida is not perfect and neither is anywhere else ...... Check out Stuart ..smaller than PSL , but remember there's crime everywhere .... I lived in a very small village in way upstate NY , college town, pretty nice area, low to no crime ..... Well there were drugs in the schools, teen drinking, just like every town ...it's there even if you don't see it ...

Also look at Palm City. It is in between WPB and PSL in Martin County. It is a great small family town convenient to I95 and the turnpike. We frequent Stuart, Jensen Beach, Hobe Sound, Jupiter, and West Palm for various shopping and fun events. Lots of family neighborhoods in Palm City. We have three young children, one in elementary school and two in preschool. All of the schools are excellent.

If you have any questions let me know.

Unless your husband is in the medical field, government, a teacher, real estate, law enforcement or working in a chain store there is not much in Port St. Lucie. WPB is much more diversified.

Seriously, I love Florida, but I'm retired. If you're of working age, stay in that nice safe town until you're ready to live on a fixed income..... Your kids , if applicable, will thank you.... well, maybe at some point....

Port St Lucie, Palm City, Stuart are not known for being crime areas. This area is also not known for its great jobs....but it was never meant to be. Lots of people live up here and drive to West Palm Beach.

IF you decide to go the WPB route...there ARE areas to stay away from. Im not allowed to say on here
