I'm considering buying a golf cart to use as a beach/village cart on the side streets in Vero's Central Beach area.

I thought I'd get it upgraded to a Low Speed Vehicle (LSV - street legal) which includes having it insured and registered, but I was told people rarely do that. In fact I just read this in an article: "The tax collector's office says that, to its knowledge, no street-legal golf cart vehicles are registered in Indian River County."

I don't spend a lot of time in Vero (yet), so I wanted to ask how much golf cart traffic you see on side streets and what kind of enforcement there is. I appreciate hearing any experience or input you have on the subject.

Thanks!

I can't say I see ANY carts on the road in Vero.

Golf carts are seen in communities where there is low traffic -- not on the streets in general. I would be afraid of getting run down!

Getting run down by who LadyB? People in this area seem to be rather courteous drivers.

One could argue that it's a lot easier to see a golf cart than a motorcycle rider.

they also go a lot slower than real traffic does in most cases and are not as easy to maneuver out of the way. No protection falling out or getting hit either
